Experienced Outpatient Coder who can code ER's, Ancillary Services (Lab & Rad). Outpatient Rehab Therapy and Wound Care. Day Shift - Monday thru Friday 8:00A.M. - 5:00P.M. Length of Assignment: 2-6 weeks with a possibility of extension. WILL NOT TRAIN!!!
Responsible for coding all patients’ charts according to coding guidelines, accurately abstracting data into the hospital computer system, and entering in ER charges.
Work Experience: Six months work experience related to health care information, preferably in an acute care setting.
Education: High school or equivalent. Successful completion of Coding course or equivalent experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical/clinical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
