RN Employee Health

Conducts pre-employment and annual employee physicals.  Processes claims for work-related injuries and coordinates any necessary treatment.  Interacts with third-party administrator (TPA) and provides required assistance with investigation and documentation.  Coordinates modified return-to-work program.  Interfaces with the Employee Assistance Program to ensure maximum utilization by employees.

1. Conducts pre-employment physicals on all newly hired employees.  Ensures new hires are properly evaluated to determine fitness for the position for which they have applied.
2.Conducts annual physicals on Saint John’s employees in accordance with all legal requirements.  Provides or annual flu vaccinations.

3.Processes workers’ compensation claims to ensure compliance with all legal requirements.  Coordinates any necessary care for the employee.  Notifies Saint John’s TPA of employee claims to ensure they are processed timely.  Provides necessary follow-up for the TPA such as conducting investigations, interviews, or providing data from the personnel record.

4.Handles any blood-borne exposures promptly to ensure safety of the employees.  Completes all necessary follow up.

5.Coordinates the modified return-to-work program.
6.Maintains medical records on each applicant and employee and ensures accurate charting of employee health information.  

7.Maintains confidentiality of medical records in compliance with all legal requirements.

8.Keeps abreast of all JCAHO and DHS standards for employee medical records and ensures compliance with these standards as demonstrated by periodic assessments by these agencies.

9.Regularly attends and actively participates in department meetings and events.
    
10.Along with the Director, Human Resources coordinates activities and promotion of the Employee Assistance Program.

11.Responsible for remaining current and knowledgeable in the occupational health field.  Attends educational seminars and conferences relating to employee health and workers’ compensation.

12.Occasionally may provide inservices to employees and supervisors on health-related topics.

11.Performs other duties as assigned.
