RN-Day Surgery Recovery-Travel. Must be skilled in airway management, patient teaching and discharge, IV start skills a plus, knowledge of how to admit patients, computer charting experience. Shift starts at 0600.

The Clinical RN uses the QCM as a framework for providing excellent nursing care to patients, developing collegial relationships with the healthcare team, and implementing self-care and self reflective behaviors to restore balance to ones’ self.
Position Purpose Level I Clinical RN
Under supportive supervision, the Level I RN works effectively using the nursing process in rendering routine nursing care to a pediatric and adult critically or acutely ill patient or a given patient care population of less acutely ill patients as it relates to the care setting. Emphasis at this level is on the interpretation and execution of the medical and nursing plan of treatment utilizing established procedures, standards and protocols for individuals within the assigned work shift. This position provides age specific care to pediatric through geriatric age groups.
Reporting Relationships
The Level I Clinical RN reports directly to the Nurse Manager with some coaching, advising and evaluating direction from the Lead RN. Reporting to this position for patient care purposes are LVNs, Nursing Attendants, Unit secretaries, Unit Technicians, Nurse Technicians and others as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or satisfactory completion of course of instruction as specified in current Laws Relating to Nursing Education Licensure-Practice with Rules and Regulations, Title 16, Section 1433 inclusive.
• Current licensure as an RN in California or eligibility to write state boards
• Current BCLS, ACLS and PALS
• A Level I Clinical RN may be an RN having three years of Medical-Surgical experience, CCU, Day Surgery Recover or PACU experience, an RN transferring from one area of specialization to another, or an RN returning to the profession after an extended absence of two years or more.
• New or transferred RNs must demonstrate satisfactory achievement of identified behaviors (*) within the initial 6 months of employment.
• The RN in the Day Surgery Recovery will have completed a basic EKG Reading class and will complete Day Surgery Recovery orientation within six months.

Position Purpose Clinical RN II
The Level II Clinical RN has a patient care assignment which includes giving care and /or independently team leading for a patient or group of patients in a clinical area. Emphasis at this level is on the identification and implementation of nursing interventions that have less predictable outcomes and evaluation of the plan of nursing care in a changing patient care situation for patients within the assigned work shift.
The Level II clinical RN assumes responsibility independently for decisions regarding and plans for the solution of patient care problems within designated clinical area assisting with coordination of this on a 24 hour basis.

• Newly promoted or transferred Level II RNs must demonstrate satisfactory achievement of identified behaviors with in 6 months.
Position Purpose Clinical RN III
The Level III RN works with consultant supervision and increasing independence to set guidelines for the quality of patient care assesses the health needs of patients using specialized knowledge and skills and anticipates the outcome of nursing interventions. The Level III Clinical RN is independently responsible for the quality of patient care within a designated area on a 24-hour basis. The emphasis is on the assurance of quality patient care through direct patient care or guidance and direction of care by others for a defined patient population. The Level III clinical RN makes recommendation regarding staffing patterns and may supervise other nursing staff, provide guidance for teaching and staff/group meetings.

In addition to RN I and RN II qualifications, the RN III will have:
• Evidence of consistent satisfactory achievement of Level RN II behaviors.
• Newly promoted or transferred Level III RNs must demonstrate satisfactory achievement of identified behaviors within 6 months of promotion/hire
• Current licensure as an RN in California, Diploma or Associate degree with three years of recent ** clinical experience which includes one year in the area of specialization; or a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing with two years of recent clinical experience which includes one year in the area of specialization or a Master’s Degree or its equivalent in a appropriate specialty in Nursing with one year of recent clinical experience which includes six months in the area of specialization.
