PER DIEM POSITION
Complete Description:
Under the direction of the Department Director and/or Medical Staff, the CAT Scan/MRI Technologist
is responsible for producing quality diagnostic scans with a high degree of quality.
Performs examinations in a proficient, courteous, and professional manner so as to favorably promote the services of this department and the philosophy of this hospital in this community.
In addition, assumes clerical duties as needed in an effort to ensure the efficiency of the department.
Ensures patient’s welfare by thoroughly checking chart for discrepancies with exam ordered and notifying Radiologist of any discrepancies. Checks patient I.D. and explains procedure to patient.
Verifies physician’s order and makes sure patient has a signed consent.
Obtains thorough history from outpatients.
Is able to handle extreme emergency situations such as severe trauma and Code Blue.

Observes Age-Specific guidelines.
Is competent in contrast injections.
Demonstrates good working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.
Ensures high quality examinations by utilizing and understanding proper scan protocols.
Effectively manipulates protocol parameters to ensure maximum diagnostic quality of completed exams. Is proficient in using scanner display functions and keyboard options to maximize and enhance exams.
Properly positions patient in scanner and immobilizes to the best of this ability and patient limitations to ensure a high quality exam.
Consistently sees that images are properly transferred to the PACS System and verified.
Checks to see that billing is accurate to procedure performed.
Consistently sees that the order matches the exam done. Reliably performs QC procedures in a timely manner.
Checks that exam is complete through dictation.

Rad Tech Certification

Previous 3 year experience

AHA - BLS

Experience with GE 1.5 T/PACS Systes
