In the cardiac catheterization laboratory, registered nurses and cardiovascular technicians performing in the scrub role will:
Have at least two years of experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory scrub position, assisting cardiologists with diagnostic left and right heart catheterization procedures and routine percutaneous coronary artery angioplasty and stenting interventions
scrub on complex interventions including, but not limited to: interventions utilizing distal protection devices; coronary atherectomy; dual wire angioplasty/stenting; left main angioplasty/stenting; thrombus extraction (Angiojet); embolized device retrieval; and valvuloplasty
deploy vascular closure devices
remove arterial lines
In the cardiac catheterization laboratory, registered nurses performing in the circulating role will:
Have at least two years of experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory circulating position, assisting cardiologists with diagnostic left and right heart catheterization procedures and routine percutaneous coronary artery angioplasty and stenting interventions
circulate on complex interventions including, but not limited to: electrophysiological studies and/or ablations; interventions utilizing distal protection devises; coronary atherectomy; pressure wire diagnostic procedures; left main angioplasty/stenting; thrombus extraction (Angiojet); embolized device retrieval; and valvuloplasty
deploy vascular closure devices
remove arterial lines
